When I first met Mike, the developer of the foundational technology we use, we connected as friends first.
As I heard more about his technology, and the work he had done and was continuing to do in AI, I became fascinated by it. Not because I was looking to get involved in fintech, but because I have always been interested in systems, performance, pressure and the way people make decisions when it matters.
As Mike's company grew, I started getting feedback from people I knew about the technology. I kept hearing the same thing — that it was seriously powerful, that it was changing the way people looked at finance and trading, and that what his company was building went far beyond a normal trading tool.
That kept me intrigued. But I was not a trader.
I am a Special Forces Operator. My background is discipline, mindset, leadership, risk, pressure and execution. Mike had also worked in environments where precision mattered, so we connected on common ground.
Over time, having made investments in technology, especially around AI, I ended up joining the board of Mike's company. Even then, my interest was not really in becoming a trader. My interest was in the technology, the people behind it, and the potential of what was being built.
As part of being involved with what had become a serious technology company, I began meeting partners and people using the technology inside their own trading communities.
That was when it started to make sense to me.
The feedback was incredible. Normal people, with normal jobs and normal lives, were using this technology and seeing the power of having better information, better structure and better timing in front of them.
But I also noticed something straight away.
The technology was only one part of the equation.
You can give someone an edge, but that does not mean they know how to use it. You can put powerful technology in front of someone, but if they do not have discipline, patience, structure and emotional control, they can still make bad decisions.

That is where I knew I could make a difference.
